If you want to be period-free for an event or holiday, we can prescribe tablets.

The tablets contain a synthetic version of the hormone progesterone. Periods are triggered every month by a drop in progesterone levels. By keeping your hormone level high, you can delay your period. 

The first step is a consultation with one of our pharmacists, Mike or Aidan, who will determine if the tablets are suitable for you.

If treatment is appropriate for you, we can prescribe these tablets.

Period delay tablets stop you getting your period when you don't want it - when you go on holiday or have to travel, for example. 

Period delay tablets are taken as one tablet three times a day. For the tablets to work you need to start taking them three days before your period is due to start. They'll delay your period for three days after you take the last tablet.

The initial consultation with one of our pharmacists is free of charge.

The cost of the tablets will depend on how many tablets you need and how long you need to delay your period for.

We will highlight the medication costs during the consultation, along with detailed advice, allowing you to make an informed decision.
